We have chosen quality ingredients and all of our scented products are blended here in Victoria.
We work with perfumer that specialises in Essential oil fragrance which is mixed here here in Australia and are unique blends Sophie has created to evoke her favourite places and rituals.
For our incense and ritual oils we use a a mix of blended fragrance oil - some a mix of parfum (which is phthalate free) natural fragrances, blended essential oil and pure essential oils. No added nasties, just as clean as we can get it and so it also smells amazing for you.
All of the blends contain Essential oils and some blends such as Grounded, have over 15 natural oils + in them and some just have just two essential oils like Dreamland.
The reason why our incense doesn’t give you a headache ( and doesn’t smell like the old incense and others) is we don’t use 100% synthetics sourced in China and we don’t add anything to the process except ethanol to make our incense burn.
We don't claim 100% natural or all non synthetics for all our scents due to the make up the small % of phthalate free parfum in some scents (which are made of and mixed with essential oils). Certain essential oils can cause allergens especially if used on the skin.
All our scents have IFRA standard approval safety documentation.
When it comes to burning our fragrance blended essential oil incense during pregnancy, we always recommend checking with your healthcare provider first, as sensitivities can vary. Our incense is made with cleaner ingredients, but some essential oils may not be recommended for expectant mothers, especially in concentrated forms. If you choose to burn incense, ensure the space is well-ventilated and listen to your body—if you feel any discomfort, it’s best to stop.
Gentle Habits perfume oils are blended with essential oils, parfums and coconut oils. We use the term "parfum" to describe our "proprietary blend" of our scent notes.
All entirely natural perfumes are also listed as such. All Gentle Habits products are plant based, cruelty free and contain no sulphates, parabens, phthalates or alcohol, petrolatums, sulphates, siloxanes, DEA, PEGS, and BHA.
Our perfumes oils contain high quality fragrance that are synthetic that is free from phthalates. We used IFRA certified scents and the best qaulity we can find. All fragrance ingredients on the IFRA list have been evaluated for safety.

Highly sensitive individuals may wish to avoid perfumes, or products containing ‘fragrance’ or ‘parfum’. This approach would be on par with individuals who have sensitivity to peanuts avoiding peanut-containing foods.
Perfume Oils and Pregnancy
Always consult with your healthcare provider or patch-test first to rule out any sensitivity or allergic reactions.
Perfume oils are generally considered a more natural and gentle alternative to alcohol-based perfumes, often containing fewer ingredients and potentially less irritating for sensitive skin. However, during pregnancy, hormonal changes can increase skin sensitivity, and some essential oils may pose risks. While most perfume oils are safe when used in moderation and externally, it’s important to check ingredient lists carefully. Avoid oils that include high concentrations of essential oils like clary sage, rosemary, or cinnamon (which is in Grounded), which may not be recommended for use during pregnancy.
Allergens
Some of the ingredients we use in our fragrances contain tiny amounts of compounds that can occasionally trigger sensitivities for certain people. These are called allergens.
We list them clearly so that anyone with sensitive skin or known allergies can make the best choices for themselves. It’s part of our commitment to transparency.
Examples of common allergens-
Cinnamal: Derived from cinnamon oil, has a warm, spicy scent.
Citral: Found in lemongrass, lemon, and orange oils; gives a strong citrus scent.
Eugenol: Present in clove oil, nutmeg, cinnamon, and bay leaf oils; has a spicy, clove-like scent.
Farnesol: Occurs in citronella, neroli, cyclamen; has a delicate floral scent.
Limonene: Found in citrus peels (especially orange and lemon); gives a fresh, citrus aroma.
Linalool: Present in lavender, coriander, and many flowers/herbs; provides a floral, slightly spicy note.
Gentle Habits perfume oils, ritual diffuser oils, cones and incense are all made here locally in Australia with fragrance blends with essential oils that are also Australian made.
We hand pack/fill all our end products by our team. We don't use a 3PL as have our own warehouse to be able to create more jobs for our local community.
Our Dive Masks, Journals, Connection cards and holders are made by our high quality and preferred suppliers in China.

In short, within Australia, standard Shipping for all domestic orders is a flat rate of $10. We offer FREE shipping for orders over $150 within Australia only.
Within International, New Zealand starts at a flat rate of $20 and Worldwide starts at a rate of $20 + for International standard shipping.
